Pressure equipment is subject to periodic inspection in line with legislation and relevant standards. The periodic control of these equipments must be renewed at maximum every 12 months. Depending on the equipment, a visual and a number of hydrostatic pressure tests are applied to make a declaration of conformity.

Periodic inspections are carried out when the equipment is in operation and all functions are tested. The periodic control of equipment that is faulty, unsettled and out of use is not performed.

Hydrostatic testing as a basic principle in pressure vessels is essential. These tests are conducted with 1.5 times the operating pressure and not exceeding one year, unless otherwise specified in the standards. However, in the case of pressure vessels which are not capable of hydrostatic testing in accordance with the characteristics of the work equipment and the obligatory conditions resulting from the operation, non-destructive inspection methods specified in the standards may be applied instead of hydrostatic testing. In this case, this fact shall be stated together with the reason in the periodical control reports to be issued.

Periodic inspections of pressurized equipment are carried out by machine engineers and machine technicians or high technicians. If the periodic controls are carried out with non-destructive inspection methods, these checks can only be carried out by engineers, trained technicians or high technicians trained according to TS EN 473 standard.

After the periodic control made, conformity assessment is carried out in three sections with respect to the condition of the equipment;
-Suitable
– Can be used after correction
– Not suitable for use
As a result of the evaluation made, labels indicating compliance are prepared and attached to the equipment.
